How to Make Your Own Dehydrated Chicken Dog Treats

In a dehydrator:

To dehydrate chicken for a dog treat using a dehydrator, follow these steps:

  1. Cut the chicken into small, bite-sized pieces.
  2. Arrange the chicken pieces on the dehydrator trays, making sure they do not touch or overlap.
  3. Set the dehydrator to the appropriate temperature, usually around 145°F (63°C) and let it run for several hours, or until the chicken is completely dehydrated and brittle. The drying time will depend on the thickness of the chicken pieces, but it could take anywhere from 4 to 12 hours. I like to put mine in the dehydrator before I go to bed and take it out when I wake up in the morning.
  4. Once the chicken is fully dehydrated, let it cool completely before storing it in an airtight container.
  5. Give it to your dog as a treat, it is a good way to provide protein while keeping the treat low in fat.

It is important to note that if you are using a dehydrator, make sure that it is safe to use for food and that it is cleaned before and after use to prevent contamination.
